We count a store as live when it responds and shows an active storefront at the last scrape, which is why our number sits below headline figures that count every domain ever registered.

How this data is collected
Stores are discovered through platform detection and targeted search scraping, then re-scraped weekly. Advertising data comes from the Meta ad library, social data from Instagram and TikTok, and contact data from a mix of storefront extraction and our own verification. Bought lists are a starting point, never the answer.
Store counts are a static number. Of the {{db.shopify.stores.total}} Shopify stores we track, {{db.shopify.signals.any.30d}} showed at least one buying signal in the last 30 days, and {{db.shopify.signals.two.30d}} showed two or more. That second number is the one worth planning around, and it is the only one that changes every week.
